Desulfurization equipment can expose components to solids, liquid chemistry and changing operating conditions. A worn location should not be assigned a ceramic solution solely because alumina is described as hard. A Sanxin inquiry needs to identify the exact component and whether abrasion, corrosion or another mechanism controls the damage. Environmental performance of the process remains a separate matter.

Identify the component, orientation and the contacting stream. Distinguish a transfer pipe or local wear surface from the broader vessel and process system. Mark the flow direction and the observed damage so that the review concerns a defined location rather than an entire desulfurization installation.
Record solids characteristics, deposits and operating changes associated with the damage. Photographs after cleaning should note what deposits were removed. A surface covered during normal operation may experience different loading when deposits release. Include those observations without assuming they establish the full mechanism.
Inspect for local abrasive tracks, widespread surface change, joint attack and backing exposure. The appearance may suggest questions but should not replace a proper compatibility assessment. Where chemical attack is suspected, identify the medium and conditions rather than relying on the general phrase desulfurization slurry.
Specify relevant composition, temperature and cleaning exposures. Compatibility evidence needs to apply to the selected ceramic and all other contacting materials. The fact that ceramic is considered for abrasion does not establish resistance to every chemical environment in the process.
Show ceramic, joints, retention and backing in the proposed construction. Ask what happens if liquid reaches an interface or if a local section is damaged. The review should identify accessible inspection points and any hidden regions where deterioration would be difficult to detect.
Confirm structural requirements independently. A ceramic lining should not be treated as a substitute for assessment of the shell, welds or pressure boundary. Installation and repair details must be compatible with the equipment owner's maintenance and examination obligations.
Imagine a hypothetical slurry component whose ceramic face appears intact but whose end joint is repeatedly exposed during cleaning. A ceramic-only compatibility statement would leave the joining materials and exposed backing unresolved. The team should review the whole exposure sequence and the exact end detail.
This scenario illustrates an interface question, not an installed case. A qualification plan could examine a representative jointed assembly under the defined conditions. Record surface change, joint condition and attachment integrity separately. Do not present an acceptable ceramic specimen as evidence for all parts of the assembly.
Send Sanxin the component drawing, failure record, stream composition and operating sequence. Include cleaning conditions, permitted design changes and inspection access. Ask the proposal to state the material identities, construction details and evidence boundary for the selected region. Record any uncertainty about composition or exposure so that the qualification does not silently rely on incomplete process information.
During a trial, document the initial state and the operating exposure. Review abrasion and chemical condition at repeatable locations, including interfaces. An acceptable lining observation can support a maintenance decision for that component. It does not establish emissions performance, process compliance or environmental benefit for the desulfurization system as a whole.
A lining review evaluates the defined component and its material compatibility and wear duty. Process removal performance and environmental compliance require separate system evidence and should not be inferred from the presence of ceramic protection.
