Keep the Back Face of Alumina Wear Tiles Within Receiving Acceptance

The visible wear face is only one part of an alumina tile intended for a lining assembly. The opposite face and the attachment interface also belong to the supplied item. A receiving inspection that checks only the exposed surface can leave the construction review incomplete. For a Sanxin tile order, define the relevant back-face requirements before delivery and retain evidence before installation conceals the interface.

Establish which face performs each role

Use the approved drawing or product description to identify the wear face, back face and orientation. Some items may have features that are not obvious from a general photograph. Do not decide orientation from appearance alone when the offered construction has a defined arrangement. Connect any marks or features used for identification to the documentation supplied with the actual item.

Record the back-face requirements that are part of the purchase, including geometry or surface condition where specified. Avoid inventing a universal finish requirement for every attachment system. The relevant acceptance follows the complete proposed construction and installation instructions. A feature acceptable for one arrangement may require a different review when the tile is used with another attachment or supporting surface.

Examine the delivered interface without altering it

Check accessible back surfaces using the agreed receiving procedure. Document damage, foreign material or unexpected features before cleaning, grinding or other alteration. Distinguish actual observations from suspected causes. A photograph can preserve location and appearance, but it does not by itself establish material composition, bond suitability or the cause of a mark found after transport and handling.

If the delivered condition differs from the accepted description, hold the affected items for disposition. Do not treat improvised surface preparation as an automatic cure. The proposed action may alter the supplied geometry or construction basis. Identify who can approve it and what evidence is needed. Retain the decision so later installation and inspection records explain the actual interface that was accepted.

Connect receiving evidence to installation checks

An accepted tile back face does not establish the condition of the substrate, attachment material or installation process. Keep those checks distinct and connect them at the appropriate inspection stage. The installation record should identify the parts used and the relevant preparation evidence before interfaces are concealed. A finished lining photograph cannot replace an earlier check that was omitted.

For example, a hypothetical receiving team may accept the exposed faces while leaving the back surfaces unexamined. If an unexpected feature is discovered during installation, the missing receiving evidence can complicate the investigation. The practical response is to record and assess the condition. It is not reasonable to infer either a supplier defect or correct attachment from the limited original inspection.

Make the inquiry cover the complete supplied tile

Provide Sanxin with the tile geometry, orientation and proposed attachment arrangement. Ask which back-face features belong to the offered product and which preparation steps belong to installation. Agree the delivery checks and supporting records before purchase. Where the supplier offers only the tile, identify who accepts its compatibility with the rest of the lining system.

Retain representative receiving observations with the delivered lot and installation location. If a later issue requires investigation, these records help distinguish supplied condition from site preparation and operating exposure. The purpose is complete interface evidence. It does not justify a general claim that a particular appearance predicts adhesion, impact tolerance or service life for every alumina wear tile.

Can the exposed face alone establish that a wear tile is ready for installation?

No. Check the requirements applicable to the complete supplied tile, including the back face and orientation where specified. Then assess substrate preparation and attachment under their own requirements. Keep unresolved conditions visible until an authorized reviewer accepts the disposition.
