Bin Ceramic Liner Trials: Mark Repairs Before Comparing the Next Inspection

A ceramic bin trial can change during its own observation period when a local repair replaces pieces or revises a boundary. Later inspections should compare the condition that actually exists, not an assumed unchanged baseline. For a Sanxin inquiry, preserve repair history with the lining map. This makes the next observation useful without hiding maintenance work behind a broad statement of good wear protection.

Establish the original installed map

Identify the bin, lining construction and initial layout. Mark the inlet, wall zones, outlet and interfaces to retained surfaces. Record item identity and the accepted drawing revision. Photographs should have repeatable locations and orientation rather than show only an attractive broad surface.

State what the first inspection can cover. Some regions may be inaccessible or obscured by deposits. An unexamined region should remain unresolved, not counted as confirmed intact. The baseline needs the same honest coverage boundary that will apply to later condition reports.

Record each repair as a construction event

When a piece or region is replaced, mark its extent and reason. Distinguish gradual wear, cracked material, attachment concerns and work performed for another purpose. Include changes in support, retention, thickness or boundary detail. A repaired area may no longer represent the original trial construction.

Preserve the new initial condition and accepted revision. If the repair changes several features, do not attribute its later behavior to one material factor without evidence. The map should let a future reviewer identify which areas retain the original arrangement and which have been revised.

Compare equivalent observations

At later inspections, revisit named locations and identify whether they belong to original or repaired lining. Record operating exposure and material changes. Calendar time since the first installation is not the same exposure for a recently replaced patch.

Keep surface loss separate from boundary, attachment and support findings. A new patch can appear sound while its transition needs attention. High ceramic hardness does not establish impact tolerance or hidden retention quality, and a favorable broad face does not describe every repair interface.

Use a hypothetical repaired trial report

Imagine a hypothetical bin report stating that its ceramic lining remains in place, while several local areas were replaced during intervening shutdowns. The report should identify those repairs and their condition rather than present the entire lining as an unchanged continuous trial.

This is a reporting example, not a Sanxin case or a claim that repairs indicate a particular cause. A clearer record can still support useful maintenance decisions. It shows which construction is acceptable where, what work occurred and which region needs another observation or technical review.

Send Sanxin a repair-aware inquiry

Provide the bin section, original and revised lining maps, operating description and location-based photographs. Identify the proposed repair boundary and interfaces to retained material. Ask the proposal to state support, attachment and acceptance requirements for that local construction.

Record the final repair and baseline before restart through the plant's procedure. Later findings should remain tied to location and actual installation history. A useful bin lining evaluation does not need to hide repairs; it needs to make their effect on the evidence clear so the next decision follows the current assembly and documented duty.

Can a repaired lining be reported as the original unchanged trial?

No. Mark the repaired extent, reason, construction revision and new baseline. Compare each region using its actual operating exposure and keep original, retained and replaced areas identifiable in later inspections.
