Keep Ceramic Liner Trial Results Traceable When Maintenance Criteria Change

A ceramic liner trial can outlast the maintenance criterion under which it began. The equipment owner may revise an action requirement after learning more about the component or its consequences. That change needs an explicit record. For a Sanxin evaluation, distinguish the condition actually observed from the rule applied to it. A newer criterion should not silently rewrite earlier reports into a different performance story.

Preserve the original decision basis

Recover the trial component, construction revision, start record and original inspection and action criteria. Keep the actual wording and responsible acceptance rather than summarize it as ordinary wear. Establish what the original reports concluded under that basis. A condition recorded as within the earlier criterion remains an observation made at that time. It should not disappear from the history simply because the criterion later changes. Likewise, a removed component should not acquire an invented later operating period because its earlier finding might now be judged differently.

Record what changed and who accepted it

Identify the revised criterion, its reason, effective point and the equipment owner decision. Distinguish a changed action rule from a changed measurement method or newly discovered condition. They can occur together but answer different questions. This article does not prescribe permissible cracks, remaining thickness or an operating threshold. The responsible technical process must determine the requirement for the actual construction and duty. If the new criterion raises an immediate equipment question, follow that process rather than continue a trial merely to protect the comparability of a supplier evaluation.

Check whether older evidence supports the new question

The earlier inspection may have measured a broad wear region while the revised rule concerns a particular edge or attachment. An old summary cannot establish an unexamined feature. Retain coverage, locations and methods when asking whether the historical condition can be assessed against the new basis. Where the records are sufficient, a separate retrospective assessment can state its evidence and limits. Where they are not, mark the result unresolved. Do not replace missing local measurements with a general average, a neighboring component result or an assumption that no recorded complaint means every new requirement was met.

Separate operating history from reclassified outcomes

Imagine a hypothetical trial whose action criterion changes after an outage. The component accumulated a known operating exposure before removal, but its old report lacks the local examination now required. The history still records that exposure and the actual removal reason. A comparison should also state that conformity to the revised criterion cannot be recovered. This is an evaluation example, not a Sanxin field result. Use separate fields for observed condition, criterion version and decision. A material wear measurement, equipment release and commercial acceptance should not be merged into one success label.

Report a bounded comparison to the next buyer

Provide Sanxin with the original and revised bases, the component records, actual duty and the specific unresolved question. Ask which construction information helps the responsible review. If two trial components were judged under different criteria, explain the difference before comparing service periods. Keep scheduled removal and unrelated interventions visible. A subsequent trial can use a clear current criterion while preserving historical findings under their original context. This approach allows improved maintenance decisions without retroactively presenting incomplete evidence as a complete lifetime advantage or treating every revised rule as proof of a material defect.

Can earlier trial reports be relabeled automatically when a replacement criterion changes?

No. Preserve their original observations and decision basis. Any assessment under the revised criterion must identify adequate historical coverage and its limits. Record the accepted change separately from actual exposure, removal reason and later operating decisions.
