Ceramic Rubber Liners for Large Lumps: Record the Exceptional Contact Events

Large lumps may arrive infrequently yet dominate the damage seen in a material-handling liner. An average feed description can hide those events. When reviewing a ceramic rubber construction with Sanxin, identify the unusual contact as well as normal sliding abrasion. The question is whether an identified panel and support arrangement has relevant evidence for the intended duty, not whether rubber appears in the product description.

Describe the event that the normal average misses

Record the observed range of lump sizes, the incoming route and the landing area. Include oversize material, feed surges and changes in drop position where known. Do not estimate a precise impact load from an unmeasured observation. Provide the physical arrangement and let the responsible technical parties determine what further information or assessment is needed.

Compare event timing with damage records. If a panel was found broken after a campaign, identify whether its condition was known before the reported event. A sequence can suggest useful questions without proving causation. Preserve photographs with panel identity and location so the investigation can distinguish central fracture, edge damage and loss of attachment.

Review what the rubber and ceramic each contribute

The ceramic face, compliant layer and support form one construction whose behavior depends on geometry and interfaces. Discuss how the offered panel is intended to respond to contact, and ask what evidence supports that explanation. High ceramic hardness does not establish impact tolerance. Likewise, a rubber layer should not be treated as a universal solution for every falling-lump duty.

Identify temperature, chemicals and cleaning conditions that could affect the compliant layer or its interfaces. Review the actual formulation and construction within the offered scope rather than borrowing data from an unrelated rubber product. Confirm mounting and edge support with the equipment owner. A panel may experience different loading if it is installed across a gap or against an uneven surface.

Examine a hypothetical oversize-feed review

Consider a hypothetical chute whose regular feed consists mainly of fines but occasionally contains larger fragments. The plant initially proposes the same panel throughout. An event log and landing map reveal that exceptional contacts are concentrated near one boundary. The review now addresses that boundary and the surrounding support before deciding on a panel arrangement. This is an illustrative scenario, not a Sanxin operating case.

If a trial is agreed, define the relevant loading conditions and observations with competent parties. Record starting condition, edge support and mounting details. Keep normal abrasion findings separate from fracture, separation and backing changes. A trial without a representative contact event may still provide useful abrasion information, but it should not be reported as a completed impact qualification.

Send Sanxin an event-based inquiry

Provide the panel layout, feed description, landing geometry and any event history. Identify fixed supports, access constraints and the proposed replacement window. Ask for the complete offered construction, its relevant evidence and any conditions requiring further evaluation. Clarify what the first installation is intended to establish before expanding the lining scope.

Arrange inspection at locations associated with both routine and exceptional contact. Log changes in feed and preserve the removal record if damage occurs. A useful evaluation narrows uncertainty about the specified duty; it does not turn an infrequent event that never occurred during the trial into an assumed proof of protection. Keep the conclusion tied to the observed loading and actual panel construction.

Does a trial without large-lump events prove a panel is impact qualified?

It can provide evidence for the conditions actually observed, but it does not demonstrate an unexperienced loading event. Define representative qualification needs explicitly and keep abrasion observations separate from claims about exceptional impact duty.
