Ceramic Tiles in Dust Extraction Ducts: Preserve the Accepted Air Passage

A dust extraction duct has a system function as well as a surface exposed to particles. Adding ceramic tiles can change its available passage and component mass. For a Sanxin inquiry, identify the local wear problem and the air-handling requirements that must remain controlled. Ceramic protection should not be represented as proof of dust collection performance or compliance.

Locate the worn duct section

Provide the route and mark bends, branches, transitions and nearby equipment. Identify the material carried and the observed contact pattern. A general dust description does not define particle characteristics, temperature or cleaning exposures at a particular section.

Record whether the concern is gradual wall loss, local edge damage or an attachment problem in existing protection. Preserve installed orientation and damage locations. Avoid inferring the whole duct's condition from one accessible bend or treating every operating problem as an abrasion issue.

Confirm the finished passage and transitions

Show the internal geometry after lining, including joints and end details. Ask the system owner to review any change in section or connection arrangement. A tile that fits inside the steel duct can still create an unwanted step or reduce a controlled passage.

Do not assume that a different surface automatically improves airflow or collection. Those are system questions requiring their own assessment. Keep the lining objective limited to the defined wear region while documenting any geometric change that the system reviewer needs to evaluate.

Review support and the full environment

Identify how ceramic pieces are supported and retained, and confirm the supporting duct condition. Added assembly mass and attachment changes need the appropriate structural review. A thin or damaged shell should not be accepted merely because new ceramic conceals it.

Include process temperature, moisture, chemical exposure and the cleaning method. The complete construction contains materials with their own limits. Where the process has combustible dust or other specific hazards, retain the existing equipment and system qualification responsibilities. Ceramic wear protection is not a substitute for those controls.

Consider a hypothetical branch detail

Imagine a hypothetical duct repair where tile coverage is proposed up to a branch entry. The initial plan does not show the leading edge at that junction. Before ordering, the buyer should resolve the internal transition and ask the system owner to assess the finished geometry.

This is a drawing-review example, not a dust-control result or a Sanxin case. The trial should document the accepted passage, attachment and critical boundaries. Later inspections should connect face wear and edge damage to the operating record, without assigning changes in collection performance to ceramic material alone.

Send Sanxin a system-aware inquiry

Provide the duct drawing, wear photographs, material description and approved passage requirements. Identify support constraints, access and the planned repair boundary. Ask for an identified ceramic layout and installation requirements for the complete proposed construction. If the finished geometry differs from the accepted system drawing, retain the review and approved revision with the lining work record.

Agree receiving and installation checks, preserve the initial condition and keep the equipment owner's system acceptance separate. A successful evaluation should state the component and duty it covers. It should not imply that ceramic tiles certify emission limits, dust extraction efficiency or safe operation of the wider air-handling installation.

Does a ceramic duct lining establish better dust extraction?

No. It addresses a specified wear-protection role. The air passage and system performance need their own review, and emissions or safety outcomes require separate evidence from the appropriate equipment and process assessments.
