Changing Ore Campaigns: Revisit the Ceramic Liner Duty Before Comparing Results

A mining liner can remain in the same equipment while the ore campaign changes. Its later condition may then reflect a different material and operating exposure from the baseline. For a Sanxin inquiry, keep campaign identity with the wear record. A ceramic proposal should address the range the plant expects, and any comparison should state which conditions were actually encountered rather than assigning every difference to the liner material.

Describe the feed used in each comparison period

Record the ore or feed-source identity at the level appropriate to the plant. Include size distribution, moisture, process chemistry and other available characteristics relevant to the contact. State what is measured and what remains a general description. The label mining service cannot establish equivalence between all campaigns.

Map the contact and damage in the equipment for each period. A changed material path, buildup or operating setting can affect which surface is exposed. Distinguish gradual abrasion from impact, cracking and retention changes. High ceramic hardness does not establish tolerance to every particle strike, especially at an exposed edge or unsupported region.

Identify changes beyond the ore name

Review approved operating adjustments, maintenance repairs and feed-position changes. Keep them in the comparison even when they were not part of the ceramic project. A new lining may also change geometry or support. The accepted equipment drawing and actual installed construction should identify those differences before a trial result is attributed to one variable.

Assess temperature, chemical and cleaning exposure for all assembly materials. If a campaign introduces conditions outside the accepted scope, obtain the relevant owner and compatibility review. An earlier successful observation is not a blanket qualification for an undefined range of future feeds. Keep pressure or structural requirements separate from the surface-wear decision.

Consider a hypothetical two-campaign trial

Imagine a hypothetical lined chute inspected after one campaign and again after a different ore blend is introduced. The second period shows a changed wear track while panel identity remains the same. The plant retains feed and operating information and investigates the contact difference rather than immediately ranking the ceramic grade differently. This is an analysis example, not a Sanxin mining result or a predicted ore effect.

Use repeatable inspection locations and record actual operating exposure. A comparison can remain useful while acknowledging that the campaigns are not equivalent. Report the inspected condition and the uncertainty instead of manufacturing a direct lifetime ratio. If another trial is required, define the specific condition it should help resolve.

Prepare a campaign-aware Sanxin inquiry

Send the equipment drawing, identified construction, campaign summaries and location-based damage records. State the expected feed range and which conditions the proposal must address. Ask for relevant material and assembly evidence and identify gaps requiring qualification. Clarify fixed geometry and installation requirements before considering a broader conversion.

At service review, keep results attached to their campaign and inspection coverage. Separate ongoing condition from completed lifetime and estimated maintenance benefits. Use evidence to decide whether the construction remains appropriate, needs revision or requires further assessment for a changed duty. This supports a realistic ceramic-liner program without treating the same equipment tag as proof that its material exposure never changes.

Can two mining campaigns be compared as the same liner duty because the equipment is unchanged?

Not automatically. Compare feed, process conditions, contact pattern and maintenance changes. Preserve campaign identity and inspection locations, then limit conclusions where exposure differs. Equipment identity alone does not establish equivalent loading or compatibility.
