Once the product fineness meets the requirements and the machine is stopped with no material flow, turn off the pump. Perform cleaning using a solvent or a mixture (for self-grinding or over-grinding between the grinding chamber and zirconia beads, approximately 10 minutes of cleaning is sufficient).
It is essential to use a separate air storage tank for supplying and maintaining pressure for the air supply to the sand grinding machine. For pneumatic diaphragm pump feeding, it is recommended to use an air dryer to filter the air.
After shutdown, ensure that there is a pressure of 2.5-3 bar in the sealed liquid storage tank to maintain mechanical seal pressure. Also, make sure that the pressure setting on the sealed liquid storage tank is greater than 1.5 bar above the pressure gauge setting on the grinding drum.
If a temporary shutdown is required, especially for longer intervals (resuming grinding the next day), add a small amount of solvent to the grinding drum before stopping. This facilitates easier machine startup next time.
Maintenance and Care of Sand Grinding Machines
Replace the sealing liquid every three months (if water is used as the sealing liquid, replace it monthly). Inject lubricating grease into the bearings.
Preparation for Starting the Sand Grinding Machine
Check the sealing liquid level (it should be between the upper and lower limits of the sealing liquid container to avoid overfilling). Open the cooling water valve and adjust the pressure to 1-2 bar, then open the compressed air main valve and adjust the pressure in the air storage tank to 4-4.5 bar. Add grinding media. During each operation, the filling amount of media should not exceed 80% of the grinding chamber volume or 85% of the installed power current.
Troubleshooting for Sand Grinding Machine
a. The main unit cannot start or automatically stops during operation:
Sealing liquid level switch is disconnected—add sealing liquid; air pressure switch is disconnected—adjust air pressure;
Grinding chamber pressure gauge is disconnected—release pressure, adjust pump speed, clean the separator gap at the sand grinding machine outlet;
Discharge temperature gauge is disconnected—adjust cooling water flow, lower cooling water temperature;
Main unit thermal protection stops—reset the thermal relay, adjust the load; V-belt is too loose—tighten the belt;
Grinding media size is not suitable—replace it; main motor and rotor rotation direction is incorrect—check motor cable connection for phase correction.
b. Pump does not suck material:
Pump motor rotation direction is incorrect—check and correct it; material inlet pipe contains air—add solvent from the funnel and expel air;
The product in the pipeline has dried and hardened—clean the pipeline and pump.
c. High current in the main unit:
Excessive filling of grinding media—reduce the filling amount; product viscosity is too high—add a more viscous liquid;
Feed fineness is too large, separator gap is too small—replace with larger sizes; feed pump flow rate is too high—reduce pump speed to lower main unit current.
d. High consumption of sealing liquid:
Sealing liquid container pressure is too high—adjust the pressure; mechanical seal failure—repair or replace it.
e. Maintenance Procedure:When the machine requires maintenance and cannot operate normally, please clean all impurities from the inner cavity before notifying the after-sales service to handle it on-site. Prolonged presence of impurities in the cavity can cause various consequential damages.
