Keep Power-Plant Ceramic Lining Records Linked When Equipment Tags Change

Equipment naming can change while an installed ceramic lining remains in place. Its material, installation and inspection history should not become detached from the current route. Keep an accepted cross-reference between old and new identifiers before using the record for a spare or trial decision. A Sanxin inquiry then refers to the actual component rather than an apparently familiar tag whose construction history has become uncertain.

Establish the current physical component

Use the plant's controlled identification process and current drawing to locate the equipment. Preserve old references as historical links, not competing current identities. In a hypothetical maintenance system update, an ash-line spool may receive another tag while its neighboring route is also revised. The old inspection folder needs a verified relationship to the present location. Do not assign it merely because two descriptions share a pipe size or area name. Photographs and connection references can support the reconciliation within their scope, but an unidentified image is not proof of the component's material or exact history.

Separate renaming from a technical change

A new identifier can be an administrative event, while a replaced lining, altered connection or process reroute is a construction or duty event. Record them distinctly. The component should not appear new solely because its tag changed, nor should an actual modification disappear under an unchanged name. Keep drawing revision, installed material and support or retention information linked. If the history cannot be recovered fully, state verified facts and open gaps rather than copy another item's data to make the file look complete. The resulting record must explain the accepted physical assembly that currently exists.

Reconcile spare and order references

Map accepted spares and pending orders to current installed items. An old tag on a store label should retain its verified current use or an explicit unresolved status. Similar external parts may differ in bore, terminations or internal construction. Check the required fit and duty before allocation. High ceramic hardness does not establish impact tolerance or chemical compatibility for a different route, and ceramic limits do not qualify joining materials. A naming change should not become permission to share unreviewed stock. Preserve equipment-owner acceptance for relevant substitutions and design differences independently of the document update.

Retain inspection continuity

Connect repeatable inspection locations, condition baselines and repairs across the identifier transition. Record dates, methods and coverage. A component with accumulated exposure should not reset to a clean trial history when its database record is recreated. Face loss, chips, cracks and attachment findings remain distinct observations. Where original materials or concealed-stage records are missing, current appearance cannot establish them retrospectively. The equipment owner should decide what further evidence is needed. Keep historical evidence available without presenting an old condition observation as current acceptance merely because its folder now uses the correct tag.

Issue an inquiry with the reconciled identity

Provide Sanxin with the current component drawing, necessary historical reference and actual duty. Identify whether the request repeats an accepted construction or proposes a change. Ask for an explicit offered version and supply boundary. Retain the new order and installed record under the accepted identity relationship. The benefit is practical traceability for maintenance, not a claim that paperwork qualifies operating condition. A clear cross-reference prevents a useful old inspection, obsolete drawing or unrelated spare from being silently applied to another power-plant ceramic component after names and systems change.

Does a new equipment tag mean the lining's service record should start over?

No. Preserve the verified relationship to the physical component and its exposure, construction and inspection history. Separate administrative renaming from actual changes. Resolve identity uncertainty before applying old evidence or allocating spares to the current item.
