A plant may handle abrasive solids in chutes, hoppers, bends and separators, yet these components do not experience identical wear. Applying one ceramic construction throughout the site can overlook severe impact at a feed point or a difficult transition inside a pipe. An application map connects each candidate location to its wear mechanism and maintenance consequence. That provides a useful starting point for discussing ceramic options with Sanxin.

Walk the material route from receiving to discharge and identify where direction, velocity, concentration or support changes. Record accessible evidence at each location: a worn track, polished surface, damaged edge or recurring shell repair. Keep the process diagram and the wear map together. Industry labels such as mining or cement are too broad to explain why one zone fails differently from its neighbor.
For a hypothetical mineral-handling circuit, separate a drop chute, a slurry bend and a cyclone inlet into individual candidates. The chute may receive large falling pieces, the bend may experience concentrated flow, and the separator has geometry essential to its function. Each needs its own operating description and design review. The fact that all handle the same mineral does not make their protection interchangeable.
Record how each failure affects operation: scheduled maintenance, an unexpected leak, contamination, restricted flow or an inaccessible repair. Combine that consequence with the quality of the available wear record. A frequently repaired, accessible panel with a documented loading pattern may be a better initial trial than a critical component whose failure mechanism remains unknown. Prioritization should make this reasoning visible.
Check whether abrasion is actually the limiting problem. Corrosion, thermal movement, impact or a weakened shell may require separate measures. A ceramic wear surface can be considered within a complete design, but it cannot establish the structural adequacy of the equipment. Where the cause is uncertain, gather another inspection or process measurement before treating the location as a straightforward material substitution.
A flat lining area, a curved passage and a replaceable composite panel impose different geometry and retention questions. Review support behind the ceramic, accessible joints and the edges exposed to incoming material. Confirm that the proposed thickness leaves acceptable flow area and maintenance access. A component that can be lined in the workshop may still be difficult to handle or install at its final position.
Account for all materials in the assembly when considering heat or chemical exposure. Rubber, adhesives, steel and joints can impose limits independent of the ceramic itself. In separating or rotating equipment, involve the equipment owner before changing internal geometry or added mass. A lining opportunity is only practical when these interfaces are resolved alongside the wear protection.
Select a representative installation and document its condition before startup. Mark measurement positions and retain the operating record for the campaign. Compare subsequent observations with the expected failure mechanism. If edge damage appears where sliding wear was expected, revise the map rather than simply increasing ceramic thickness. The trial should improve understanding of the process, not just produce a replacement date.
Prepare a separate inquiry sheet for each shortlisted location and provide Sanxin with drawings, wear photographs and maintenance priorities. Identify the first trial and explain why it was selected. Expand to similar duties only after confirming that their loading and interfaces are comparable. A successful lining at one point supports a reasoned next step, not a blanket claim about every application in the plant.
It can inform the next review, but the loading, geometry, attachment and operating environment must still match. Transfer the inspection lessons and specification method first. Expand the construction only where the evidence shows that the new location is sufficiently comparable and its design interfaces are acceptable.
