An installed ceramic liner may remain in service at the end of a trial review. That is an observation, not a completed lifetime. When equipment has worn quickly in the past, an encouraging early inspection can invite an overly precise forecast. For a Sanxin evaluation, define what has actually been seen and what is projected. This keeps maintenance planning useful without presenting future service as a verified result.

Record installation date, operating exposure and the dates of relevant inspections. Use throughput where reliable information is available, alongside calendar time. State changes in feed, temperature, moisture or operating sequence. A period containing long idle intervals cannot be interpreted as equivalent to the same period under continuous use without considering that difference.
Identify the inspected locations and method. Report inaccessible areas as limitations rather than assuming they match visible surfaces. Record face wear, edge damage, cracking and attachment condition separately. A clean photograph at one location does not establish that every interface in the assembly remains acceptable or that its rate of deterioration is uniform.
Describe the condition at the last inspection using the agreed acceptance criteria. If a future replacement date is estimated for planning, state its assumptions and uncertainty. Do not assign a precise life multiplier from one reading or from a component that has not reached a comparable endpoint. The owner should determine action criteria appropriate to the equipment consequence.
Keep laboratory evidence in its scope as well. An abrasion result can inform a material review but does not supply an installed replacement date on its own. Support, retention, flow geometry and operating events remain relevant. Forecasts should be revised when new observations challenge their assumptions rather than preserved because they were used in the original business case.
Suppose a hypothetical plant inspects a candidate lining during an outage earlier than planned. The accessible surface remains within the agreed condition, but the trial has accumulated less production than the historical steel comparison. The plant reports the finding and continues the defined observation plan instead of declaring a completed lifetime advantage. This example describes reporting practice, not a Sanxin trial result.
The next review compares the same locations and records any operating changes. If the component is removed for unrelated work, preserve its condition and the reason for removal. That event may provide useful inspection evidence without representing wear exhaustion. Treating every removal as the same endpoint would distort both technical and cost comparisons.
Provide the baseline failure history, proposed construction, replacement criterion and inspection plan. Identify the first decision the trial should inform and any uncertainty in historical records. Ask which material and assembly evidence supports the proposed duty. Clarify how geometry, attachment and installation will be accepted before the operational observation begins.
Afterward, report confirmed findings, open questions and planning assumptions separately. Include maintenance work and estimated downtime costs without presenting them as realized savings prematurely. A trial can support continued monitoring, design revision or a wider evaluation even before lifetime is known. Its usefulness comes from a defensible next decision, not from turning an unfinished campaign into a promotional number.
It has a recorded exposure and condition at that date, but its completed life has not been observed. Any forecast needs explicit assumptions and limits. Continue comparable inspections and distinguish planned or unrelated removal from reaching the agreed wear endpoint.
