Receive Ceramic Wear Tiles With a Lot and Fit Inspection Plan

Incoming ceramic tiles should be checked against the installation they must become. Accepting a delivery solely because the pieces appear white and intact can overlook a size mismatch, damaged edge or missing special shape. A practical receiving plan connects material identification, component condition and layout. Resolve discrepancies before the tiles reach the workface, where time pressure can turn an avoidable delivery issue into a compromised installation.

Keep the lot linked to the purchase requirements

Check packaging labels and supplied records against the accepted order and drawing. Retain identification that links the received components to their relevant material and quality information. If several shapes or grades are supplied, keep them distinguishable during storage and issue. Visual similarity is not a reliable way to confirm that a tile belongs to the intended specification.

For a hypothetical chute project with standard tiles and special corner pieces, create a simple component list tied to the layout. Verify quantities and the designated installation zones. A shortage of special pieces can disrupt the whole installation even when the total tile count appears correct. Record substitutions as open items requiring acceptance rather than allowing them to enter the assembly unnoticed.

Inspect dimensions where they affect the layout

Use the agreed measurement and sampling approach to check relevant dimensions, flatness or profile. The required features depend on the component and drawing; not every application needs the same inspection. Include the dimensions that control fit at corners, openings and transitions. A nominal tile size is insufficient if the completed lining must meet a specific bore or clearance.

Compare a representative arrangement with the intended substrate geometry where practical. This can reveal cumulative fit problems that are not obvious from one piece. Do not resolve an unexpected mismatch by forcing tiles together or changing joint details without approval. Record the deviation and assess how it affects support, the finished surface and the installation sequence.

Separate handling damage from acceptable condition

Inspect edges, corners and surfaces for damage using the accepted criteria. Keep suspect pieces apart so they are not installed accidentally. Document the condition and packaging where transport damage is suspected. A chipped leading edge can be particularly relevant in abrasive flow, while a concealed crack may need further assessment under the agreed inspection method.

Plan storage and movement to protect the components after acceptance. Avoid mixing inspected and uninspected stock or losing identification when packages are opened. Ceramic hardness does not make tiles immune to handling damage. Establish who can release quarantined pieces and what evidence is required, rather than leaving the installer to decide under the pressure of a shutdown deadline.

Carry receiving information into the handover record

Record the lot or component identification used in each relevant installation zone. Preserve accepted deviations and any additional checks agreed before fitting. The installation team should receive the approved layout and material records along with the tiles. Incoming acceptance does not replace substrate, retention and finished-geometry checks, but it gives those later stages a reliable starting point.

When contacting Sanxin, provide the required tile drawing, layout and incoming acceptance criteria with the inquiry. Ask for the proposed identification and delivery documentation. If a discrepancy appears, share the measurements and photographs tied to the affected components. Clear receiving evidence supports a focused resolution and helps prevent uncertain parts from being concealed inside a completed lining.

Can identical appearance be used to confirm the ceramic grade?

No. Use the agreed identification and supporting records, with verification appropriate to the purchase requirements. Appearance can assist a condition inspection but does not establish composition or all material properties. Keep supplied lots and special shapes traceable through storage and installation.
