Rubber Ceramic Liner Condition: Record Tears, Cracks and Movement Separately

A rubber ceramic composite liner contains several materials and interfaces that can show different forms of damage. Calling all visible change wear hides information needed for repair. For a Sanxin inquiry, record ceramic condition, rubber condition and panel movement separately. The inspection should explain what was seen without assigning a cause before the construction and duty are reviewed.

Identify the construction being inspected

Link the panel to its drawing and available material identity. Show the ceramic pattern, rubber regions, backing and attachment. Different constructions may expose different interfaces, so an inspection method needs to match the actual arrangement. Preserve the accepted revision so a repair assessment is based on the installed panel rather than a similar catalogue image.

Record the installed orientation and flow direction. A panel edge under incoming material can face a different contact from the center of a sliding region. Include previous repairs or accepted deviations so that a new observation is not mistaken for an original feature or attributed to the wrong panel version.

Separate visible condition categories

Describe ceramic cracking, chipping and surface loss independently. Record rubber cuts, tears or other visible changes without assuming their origin. Identify any separation at a boundary or movement of the assembled panel. These categories preserve the distinction between material contact damage and an attachment concern.

State what cannot be inspected. A sound-looking face does not establish hidden layer integrity or mounting condition. Where further examination is needed, use the applicable approved procedure. Do not damage the assembly with improvised pulling or impact merely to create an apparent inspection result.

Connect observations to exposure

Record the process material, contact pattern and known operating events. Include temperature, chemicals and cleaning methods relevant to the rubber and joining system. Ceramic material information cannot qualify those other parts of the assembly.

A local tear near an exposed edge and widespread visible change can raise different questions. Preserve locations and context before choosing a replacement. The mere presence of rubber does not prove impact suitability, and ceramic hardness does not explain every crack or interface issue.

Use a hypothetical mixed-damage review

Imagine a hypothetical panel with little visible ceramic loss but a torn rubber boundary and movement at one mounting location. Reporting the panel simply as lightly worn would hide the more relevant concerns. The maintenance team should document each finding and review the support and operating contact at that location.

This is a condition-record example, not a reported Sanxin failure. The investigation might identify additional examination needs before defining a repair. Any decision should follow the actual construction and plant acceptance criteria rather than a general assumption that one layer's appearance describes the whole panel.

Prepare a useful Sanxin repair inquiry

Send the panel drawing, location map, photographs and operating description. Identify which findings are confirmed and which interfaces remain uncertain. Include access limits and the existing attachment arrangement. Ask the proposal to address the defined repair boundary and compatibility with retained lining.

After repair, record the initial ceramic, rubber and mounting condition separately. Revisit the same locations during approved inspections and preserve operating changes. A layered inspection record makes composite liner characteristics useful to maintenance personnel without turning broad material descriptions into unsupported diagnoses or performance promises.

Can a composite panel be called sound because its ceramic pieces look intact?

Not from that observation alone. Review visible rubber, interfaces, attachment and support, and state inaccessible areas. The ceramic face is one condition category within the complete assembled panel.
