Through-Holes and Blind Recesses in Ceramic Plates: Identify the Actual Feature

A ceramic plate drawing can contain openings or recesses with different functions. Calling every feature a hole can hide a meaningful geometric distinction. For a Sanxin inquiry, show the actual section and accepted references before selecting a perforated or plain plate description. A feature's appearance from one face does not independently establish its depth, whether it passes through or the role it performs in the assembled equipment.

Identify the feature from the controlled section

Label the working face, supporting face and relevant reference surfaces. Show the actual opening or recess and the dimensions needed by its function. Do not infer a through-opening from a dark region in a photograph or assume a recess is a manufacturing defect. The controlled part drawing should define the item rather than a generic product-family name.

Preserve the feature identity with the overall part revision. A plate can share an outer outline while its internal features differ. Distinguish nominal stock descriptions from the accepted finished requirement. If the drawing is incomplete, keep that uncertainty explicit and ask the responsible designer to establish the required construction before purchase or alteration.

Connect depth and location to the intended function

Ask whether the feature is for mounting, process passage, locating or another defined role. The equipment owner controls the functional requirement. A geometric description does not independently qualify load transfer, flow behavior or pressure containment. This article does not design a fixing, prescribe hole dimensions or authorize changing an equipment opening.

Clarify ceramic support and joining details around the feature. High hardness does not establish impact tolerance at a local boundary. All relevant materials need their thermal and chemical review. If a closure item forms part of the accepted construction, identify it separately rather than assume that every ceramic opening is intended to remain exposed or that every recess should be filled.

Consider a hypothetical one-face photograph

Suppose a hypothetical buyer sends a photograph of a plate and requests the same holes. The image does not show whether the features pass through or end within the part. The buyer recovers the accepted section and intended function before requesting supply. This is geometry clarification, not a Sanxin manufacturing case or a claim about the photographed material.

If a sample is available, its examination should follow the agreed process and preserve its identity and condition. A worn or altered feature may not define the original requirement. Do not reproduce an uncertain sample shape without the responsible acceptance. Specialized machining, adjustment or examination also needs explicit feasibility rather than an assumption that every ceramic feature can be changed at the site.

Prepare a feature-defined Sanxin inquiry

Send the part section, reference faces, functional requirement and actual operating description. Identify which feature measurements govern receiving and which depend on final assembly. Ask for a clear offered version and applicable evidence. Clarify any special manufacturing or inspection scope before treating a generic perforated-plate quotation as complete.

At handover, preserve the accepted feature geometry and final position in the equipment. Later observations should distinguish the initial defined feature from wear, fracture or an approved modification. A clear record supports practical supply without allowing the word hole, an exterior photograph or matching outside dimensions to stand in for the complete geometry and role of a ceramic plate feature.

Can a one-face photograph establish whether a ceramic plate feature is through or blind?

Not reliably by itself. Obtain the controlled section, depth references and intended function. Keep geometry and equipment qualification distinct, and clarify specialized supply or adjustment scope before ordering a part from an ambiguous hole description.
