Two Alumina Grades in One Delivery: Keep Lot Identity with Every Work Package

When two alumina grades arrive for different uses, their appearance may not provide a reliable way to allocate them. The practical comparison is partly a traceability problem: which material evidence belongs to which pieces and where will those pieces be installed? A Sanxin order should define that connection before receiving, rather than expect workers to recognize a composition difference from color.

Separate the material records at receipt

Match each delivered group to the accepted grade description, order item and available lot identity. Record the scope of the accompanying information. A general data sheet, sample report and delivery-specific record are different documents; do not label them all as proof that each tile was individually tested.

If the material designation on a report differs from the accepted order, preserve the discrepancy before the pieces are distributed. Ask the responsible parties to reconcile the item and document identities. Attaching a favorable but unrelated report does not establish which grade was actually supplied.

Keep identity when packaging is opened

Agree how the parts remain associated with their grade and work package during storage, movement and fitting. An unopened label cannot help if its pieces are later mixed without a retained reference. The chosen method should suit the actual supplied form and site process rather than depend on appearance or shelf memory.

Identify any returned or partly used stock separately. A piece left from an earlier repair should not enter the new accepted group simply because its dimensions match. Preserve uncertainty where identity has been lost, and obtain the required review before assigning the part to a location with a specific material requirement.

Connect allocation with the approved lining map

Use item references to show where each grade is intended to go. State whether they are alternatives for review, separate trial candidates or materials assigned to different duties. Those are different purposes. The receiving team should not convert an alternative quotation into permission to mix grades within the installation.

For a hypothetical trial, suppose two candidate grades are delivered for separately identified wear zones, but their containers are combined before fitting. The later inspection cannot confidently compare the materials if their locations are unknown. This is a traceability example, not a material result. Resolving identity before installation preserves the possibility of a meaningful comparison.

Close the handover without inventing equivalence

For a Sanxin inquiry, provide the controlled drawing, grade allocation and required documentation scope. Ask the proposal to identify any offered alternative explicitly. Approved substitutions should remain with the order and installed record, including the evidence and responsible acceptance decision. Keep unopened, allocated and uncertain material groups distinguishable in the stock record so a later repair cannot silently lose the accepted identity chain.

At installation, preserve the actual item-to-location link and any accepted deviation. Later observations can then be interpreted against the supplied material and duty rather than a presumed label. Nominal alumina content does not establish every property or resolve an attachment problem, but correct grade identity is still essential when a material requirement has been agreed. A clear chain from report to stock to work package makes that requirement verifiable without pretending that two similar-looking products are automatically interchangeable.

Can workers distinguish two alumina grades reliably by tile appearance?

Appearance alone does not establish material identity. Maintain the accepted grade, order and available lot references through receipt and allocation, and resolve uncertain stock before use in a defined material requirement or trial.
